Introduction
Overview of shopping and dining at Changi
A destination in itself, Singapore Changi Airport is well known for its trademark comfort and
efficiency. From duty-free shopping to dining and more, the airport’s diverse range of facilities
and services surprises even the most sophisticated modern-day air passengers.
The shopping and dining options at Singapore Changi Airport are divided into two main areas across all four terminals – Airside Area (within transit) and Landside Area (public area). The Airside Area is past immigration clearance and is accessible to all travellers and transit passengers. The landside area is prior to immigration clearance and is accessible to travellers, transit passengers with relevant visa requirements, meeters and greeters, as well as members of public. Latest addition – Terminal 3
With the addition of Terminal 3 which opened in January 2008, we have expanded our operations
to support the steady growth in passenger traffic and connectivity.
Airside
In Terminal 3, Singapore Changi Airport has introduced the first single-street transit retail
concept, set amongst lush green surroundings with a more organic, ‘wave’ layout of the retail
outlets so as to achieve unobstructed views, providing maximum visibility and exposure for brands
and operators.
Hailed as a mall within a terminal, Terminal 3 is a multi-dimensional shopping paradise that
boasts an avant-garde design. With its large retail space, strategic layout and unique ambience,
Terminal 3 is the ideal location for any flagship store and to date, there are over 50 retail
outlets and over 20 F&B outlets within the transit area of Terminal 3 to create the ultimate
shopping and dining experience.
Landside
For the first time in Singapore Changi Airport, two dedicated shopping zones were set up
in Terminal 3’s landside area – “B2 Mall” (basement 2) and “3-Top” (level 3 leading to viewing
mall). They are both easily accessible from the city train (Singapore's Mass Rapid Transit)
stations, basement car parks and bus bays.
B2 Mall is situated at the basement 2 level with established anchor tenants such as Kopitiam (food court), NTUC FairPrice (supermarket) as well as Popeye’s Chicken & Biscuits (fast food chain). With interactive children's facilities such as playgrounds, rides and a mini TV theatre being offered alongside a complementary retail and dining mix, B2 Mall is a family-friendly destination.
3-Top presents another distinct retail and dining experience. Located at level 3, 3-Top is perched on top of the transit mall. This gives patrons a one-of-its-kind bird’s eye view of the new airside transit area in Terminal 3. As it is also linked to the viewing gallery, visitors can enjoy a magnificent view of planes taking off and landing. Tastefully set amidst an elegant interior, 3-Top offers excellent pre-flight shopping and dining selections for departing passengers as well as their sending-off parties. Members of public can also delight in the range of cuisines available when they make 3-Top their destination for get-together meals.
Upgrading of Terminal 1
In addition, Terminal 1 is currently undergoing massive upgrading works. The works commenced
in May 2008 and is scheduled to be completed by end-2011. At an estimated cost of S$500 million,
the 27-year-old Terminal 1 will be rejuvenated and themed as the “Tropical City”. The variety of
retail, F&B and service outlets will be increased by targetting new-to-market or new-to-Changi
brands / concepts so as to create a unique experience at Terminal 1.
Airside
Upon completion of the upgrading works, there will be a total of 13 F&B, 39 retail and 10
services outlets in Terminal 1. This brings the total number of F&B units to 63, retail stores
to 168 and 32 service outlets across all four terminals.
Landside
In the revamped terminal, we will also be increasing the F&B and retail offering at the
landside area. This includes the integration of retail as well as interactive F&B concepts.
With a wide array of casual shopping and dining options to indulge in, Singapore Changi Airport appeals to just about everyone.
